Canyon Ridge Middle School honored those who have served in the U.S. military branches last week at its annual Veterans Day assembly on Friday

As the veterans arrived, they were escorted by members of CRMS’s student council to the ceremony.

Every veteran was individually recognized for their service by Susan Sullivan, principal of CRMS. Students wrote essays and poems entitled “America’s Gift to my Generation”. Five students were selected to read their winning poems/essays for the veterans during the ceremony: Harlee Harrison 6th grade, Lucy McElmurry 6th grade, Sriya Parameshawar 7th grade, Lacie Horton 8th grade and Kaitlin Homan 8th grade.
