Orthodontists Travis and Jen Tomblyn are perfecting smiles in Steiner Ranch and beyond as owners of Tomblyn Family Orthodontics.
Originally from West Virginia, the husband-wife team is now living their dream of owning their own practice and eventually practicing together after maternity leave. That’s right, the couple is expecting their first child this fall.
The Tomblyn’s purchased the Steiner Ranch Orthodontics practice from James Waters in April. Waters started and ran the business for 13 years and then moved to Carlsbad, NM to be close to family and start another practice there.
“I am extremely honored to become a part of the Steiner Ranch community, and I look forward to striving to do everything I can to ensure that each patient has a great experience at our office,” Travis Tomblyn said. Here’s a Q&A
What inspired you to become an orthodontist?
I chose orthodontics because I have a passion for working with people to create beautiful smiles that hopefully transform their lives. I’ve always been drawn to the cosmetic side of dentistry and I thought what better way to do that than to become an orthodontist.
What was your path to get to this point?
I have owned Westlake Family Orthodontics for several years now and my wife has worked for a practice up north. It was always our dream to have a practice together. We came across Dr. Water’s practice (Steiner Ranch Orthodontics) and it seemed like the perfect fit for our family. We are so thankful to now have three convenient locations to serve our patients across the Steiner Ranch, Westlake and Central Austin area. We changed the name to Tomblyn Family Orthodontics across all locations to represent us together as a team.
Share a bit about you and Jen.
My wife, Jen, is also an orthodontist. We are happily expecting our first child, a baby boy, in December. I am excited to announce that Jen will join Tomblyn Family Orthodontics after her maternity leave.
When we aren’t talking teeth, we love to travel to new places and experience different cultures. We decided to trade the cold, snowy winters in West Virginia for the abundant sunshine in Austin. We chose Austin because we love the warm weather, outdoor activities, unlimited restaurants, and endless events that it has to offer.
What are some of your key goals with your practice?
I want to bring a new era of orthodontics to Steiner Ranch and surrounding areas. Tomblyn Family Orthodontics is the only Invisalign Platinum Provider in Steiner Ranch. My goal for practice has always been to provide a fun, upbeat environment, excellent customer service, and top- notch orthodontic care.
