The Vandegrift girls golf team – Addison Bandelier, Tiffany Wong, Michaela Patridge, Navya Modi, and Shelly Areepitak – returned as the state silver medalists after competing at the UIL state tournament April 28-29 at the White Wing Golf Course in Georgetown.

“The Lady Vipers had a great state tournament,” shared Aaron Ford, VHS head golf coach. “We shot 302 in the first round and had a share of the lead with Coppell after the conclusion of day 1. We played steady golf on day two shooting 308. Good enough to finish State runner-up, three strokes behind state champion Coppell.”

This marks the fifth-straight year the VHS girls team has finished in the top two at the state level.

Partridge earned the UIL 6A Girls Golf silver medal as an individual, who combined to shoot right at par over the two days, two strokes behind the leader.

“We were lead by sophomore, Michaela Partridge, who shot rounds of 73/71 to earn state runner-up medalist honors as well,” Ford said.

Freshman Wong shot rounds of 74/78 and sophomore Bandelier 75/78 had great tournaments finishing 11th and 20th respectively.

Sophomore Modi played very consistent shooting 81/81 and senior Areepitak fired 80/84, Ford shared.

“I am very excited as four of my five girls were only freshmen and sophomore’s and will be returning next year,” Ford added. “The future of Viper golf is strong!”
