Multiple vehicle break-ins occurred early last week according to Travis County Sheriff’s Office and residents.

“It’s a little difficult to search our system without an exact address but I was able to find six calls of service for burglary of a vehicle on July 28 in the Steiner Ranch area. The first call was received at 7 a.m. and these six victims were contained to Summer Canyon Drive and Indigo Waters Drive,” shared Drew Knight, TCSO public information and social media specialist.

A Nextdoor post on July 28 shared a video from the Plateau section of Steiner Ranch near John Simpson Park:

“Car was broken into last night in Steiner at 2:30 a.m. Does anyone else have pics of this car doing the same?

Another person replied that: “More cars were also broken into off Summer Canyon Drive last night as well.”

Indigo Waters and Summer Canyon Drive are located in The Hills at Westridge.

TCSO’s Knight added: “A number of the vehicles involved were left unlocked — most of the vehicle burglary cases TCSO investigates do involve vehicles that are left unlocked.”

There is a detective assigned to this case. “I can confirm the case is open and active but I’m not at liberty to release any other details of an open investigation,” Knight shared.
