This summer, Vandegrift High School hosted a successful co-ed soccer camp, bringing together rising 2nd–9th grade students for four days of fun, fitness, and skill development.
The camp, held at Monroe Stadium in early June, drew athletes from across the community eager to improve their game and connect with fellow players.
Led by Vandegrift coaches and current high school players, the camp focused on
individual skill work, small-sided games, and team-building exercises. Campers enjoyed
expert instruction in a supportive environment while building confidence and enthusiasm for the sport.
“We love seeing so many young athletes out here learning, laughing, and competing,”
said Caitlin Sawyer, Vandegrift girls soccer head coach. “Our goal is to make the game fun while helping each player grow both on and off the field.”
The camp also gave players a chance to experience what it’s like to train at the high
school level and get inspired by Vandegrift ’s soccer culture.
