BigCommerce moved out of Four Points after 12 years. Becky Logan, senior vice president of people at BigCommerce, shared a little about the company and its reasons for moving.
1) What does BigCommerce do?
BigCommerce is a flexible enterprise ecommerce platform built to help B2C and B2B brands, retailers, manufacturers, and merchants of all sizes grow and innovate across every channel. In today’s era of agentic commerce, BigCommerce’s flexible, open platform architecture makes it easy for brands to scale, adapt, and connect with the tools to solve their unique business challenges without being locked into rigid systems.
2) How long have you been in Four Points?
We relocated our Austin headquarters in April of 2013 from Far West to Four Points.
3) Can you share about the growth of BigCommerce?
Founded in Sydney, Australia, BigCommerce soon relocated its headquarters to Austin, Texas, where it began building momentum as a scrappy startup empowering small businesses with powerful tools to grow and sell online.
When the company moved into its Four Points office, the team was just 120 strong. Since then, BigCommerce has evolved significantly, shifting upmarket in 2015 to serve mid-market and enterprise businesses with an expanded product suite and going public in 2020.
Along the way, we’ve opened offices in San Francisco, London, Kyiv, and Dallas, growing into a truly global company with over 1,100 employees worldwide—and counting.
4) Why are you leaving Four Points and where are you going?
As much as we have enjoyed our time at Four Points, after 12 years there, we wanted to make a change to a more centrally located office to shorten commute times for our team members. The Domain building also offers improved work and collaboration spaces to enhance the in-office employee experience, as well as more accessibility to restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options within walking distance to foster employee connections.
5) Have there been some highlights to share about being part of the Four Points community?
Having our headquarters in the Four Points area for over a decade has been incredibly special. We’ve seen employees move here to join BigCommerce, contributing to a vibrant local community and building lifelong friendships, families, and careers in the process.
We’ve shared some unforgettable workplace memories over the years: from Office Olympics, Halloween trick-or-treating with families, and Friday meetings and happy hours, to celebrating our incredible customers and employees at year-end events. We’ve also come together for meaningful causes—chili cook-offs for the Humane Society, lake cleanups, and even a team trip to Port Aransas to help rebuild after Hurricane Harvey.
One of our proudest long-standing partnerships has been with Partnerships for Children, supporting over 2,000 children during the holidays over the past 13 years. And most recently, we’ve stood united in support of our team members in Ukraine, a true testament to the strength and compassion of our global community.
Four Points has been more than just an office—it’s been the heart of our growth. It’s where we reached major milestones, including our IPO in 2020, and where we recently celebrated 15 incredible years as a company.
6) When did you all move?
We moved out of our Four Points office in early June, and moved into our first space on the 9th floor at Domain 11 on July 7. Later this year, we will occupy an additional floor at Domain 11.
