We are Girl Scout Troop 2366, proudly part of the Lake Austin Service Unit, which includes the Steiner Ranch, River Place, and Four Points areas. Over the past 10 years, we’ve worked hard to make a positive impact on our community — and beyond!
Some of our proudest achievements include receiving the Bronze Award for promoting healthy living at our elementary school (we even installed recycling bins in the Laura Bush cafeteria!), earning the Silver Award for building Little Free Libraries in Bella Mar and Towne Square parks, and being recognized with the Super Troop Award for our all-around amazing Girl Scouting!
Now, we’re continuing our mission to help the planet by launching a sustainable learning project focused on boosting composting in our local neighborhoods. We’re currently working on the “Sow What?” Journey, which is all about reducing our carbon footprint. As part of it, we’ve explored the entire food cycle, researched ways to support local farmers and markets, and studied how to build effective composting systems at home.
This is the first step we need to take on our path to the Gold Award — the highest and most prestigious award in Girl Scouting!
For our Take Action project, we created a website we created a website
(sites.google.com/view/sowwhatjourney/homeabout-us) filled with easy composting tips, delicious healthy recipes, and fun ways to live more sustainably. It’s all about reducing food waste, lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and encouraging healthy habits.
Girl Scouts means the world to us. It’s helped us grow as leaders, thinkers, and changemakers — and it’s given us friendships that will last a lifetime.
