Get ready to sing, dance, and cheer as Vandegrift High School proudly presents Disney’s High School Musical: On Stage!—a high-energy production filled with catchy songs, dynamic choreography, and unforgettable characters. Performances will run four shows, October 23–25, 2025, in the Vandegrift High School Performing Arts Center.
Based on the hit Disney Channel movie, High School Musical follows the story of Troy Bolton, the East High basketball star who surprises everyone when he auditions for the school musical.
Brayden Acosta steps into the spotlight as Troy, bringing charm and vocal talent to the role of the conflicted teen torn between his teammates and his newfound love for singing.
Opposite him is Kirin Chheng as Gabriella Montez, the brilliant new student with a secret passion for music and a voice that stuns the entire school. Together, Troy and Gabriella break the status quo and inspire their classmates to embrace their own unique talents.
Stirring up the drama are theater diva Sharpay Evans, played with flair by Hadley Rebtoy, and her scheming brother Ryan, portrayed by the scene-stealing Caspian Robinson. The duo is determined to keep their reign over East High’s stage—but they may have finally met their match.
Evelyn Carpenter brings strength and charisma to the role of Taylor McKessie, the academic decathlon captain who encourages Gabriella to stay true to herself while navigating the chaos of high school life.
Audiences can expect all the fan-favorite songs from the original movie, including “Start of Something New,” “Get’cha Head in the Game,” “Stick to the Status Quo,” and the show-stopping finale “We’re All in This Together.”
Adding to the excitement, this production will feature a live pit orchestra, bringing every
musical moment to life with rich, energetic sound.
This spirited production is directed by Hattie Bergman, VHS Theatre Director and Aaron Johnson, VHS Technical Director. Choreography directed by VHS seniors, Evelyn Carpenter and Hadley Rebtoy. With dazzling costumes, vibrant sets, and an enthusiastic cast, High School Musical: On Stage! promises a night of fun for the whole family.
