With lots of green and confetti, the Vandegrift Band & Vision Dance Company was invited to perform in the 2027 National St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.
“We were joined (October 7) at the booster meeting by Mr. Dillon Hennessy, the Vice
Consul of the Consulate General of Ireland in Austin, who shared warm words with our
families about our invitation to perform, as well as a bit about the trip,” shared Jarrett
Lipman, VHS director of bands.
The parade takes place on March 17, 2027, and the band will travel to Dublin on
March 12 returning on March 18. All current and future band and Vision students in grades 8-11 will be eligible to participate in this trip. The estimated cost per student is $4,000.
At the end of the presentation, each student received a trip t-shirt to commemorate the
occasion. Eighth graders in band at Canyon Ridge and Four Points middle schools also got t-shirts.
