The Vandegrift Viper football team will play in the State Semi-Final playoff game vs. the King Panthers of Houston on Saturday, December 13 @ 6 p.m. at McLane Stadium in Waco. Both teams are 12-2 on the season.
“We are very proud of the fact we are one of the final four teams, but not satisfied as we know we have the capability to make our 3rd state championship game in the last 4 years,” said Drew Sanders, VHS head football coach.
Sanders says he and his staff are preparing the Vipers for this state semi-final game like they prepare for all of their games.
“King is an excellent program in the Houston area. They really haven’t been challenged in the playoffs. They are talented and coached well and will give us a great challenge,” Sanders said. “I hope the Viper fans attend the game Saturday as we need their energy during the game. Last week’s crowd was excellent.”
This game is a part of the “2025 UIL Texas Football State Championships – 2025 Football Conference 6A D2” tournament.
