Fall 2013 hair trends – Bed head is back

Steiner Ranch’s Brian Charles Salon owner Ric Salvadalena was featured on Fox News 7’s Good Day Austin program on September 25 to talk about the latest fall trends.
Fall 2013 can be characterized by the disheveled, fresh-out-of-bed look, whether your hair is short, medium or long. Simple, textured shapes, very little layering around the face, create the basis for creating unique looks with styling and product.

620 turn lanes improve traffic but congestion still an issue, TxDOT is studying Four Points traffic

Four Points drivers moving through the intersection at RM 620 and RM 2222 have noticed an improvement in traffic flow since the new dual turn lanes opened several weeks ago.
But now there is more congestion on RM 2222 where traffic backs up from RM 620 to River Place Boulevard.
Traffic engineers continue to work on signal timing solutions through the area as well.

Snakes, etc. caught by a sticky trap
Two snakes, a lizard and some spiders were found recently in a garage in the Santaluz subdivision of Steiner Ranch. A sticky trap caught them all. Amy Wagner shared this photo, taken while they were stuck and alive.
Dr. Tamera Cole at the Animal Hospital at Steiner Ranch identified these as the Western Diamondback Rattlesnake and the Texas Coral Snake, which is black, yellow and red AND more venomous than the rattler.
RP MUD waits out Intent to Sue two federal agencies, Friends of RP Trail hosts rally Oct. 12

Last month, the River Place MUD served the US Army Corps of Engineers and US Fish and Wildlife Service a Notice of Intent to Sue both agencies because neither has jurisdiction over the MUD owned conservation land, and there has been no harm of the Golden Cheeked Warbler.
The NOI was filed on Sept. 17 by Attorney Alan Glen on behalf of the MUD and he asked the agencies to respond within 30 days.
Boosted by two recent biologist surveys which confirm species populations are healthy in the area, the objective of the potential lawsuit is to obtain a declaratory judgment from the court that the MUD has a right to build the trail on its land. This fact has been challenged and resulted in a trail closure in March 2012.
On Saturday, the Friends of River Place Nature Trail is holding a rally to show public support to reopen the upper River Place Nature Trail. The event will be at Sun Tree Park in River Place at 7 p.m. right after the neighborhood Hoedown.
“The rally is important and all are welcome,” said Jim Casey, president of the River Place MUD. “Voice your opinion, because this is the kind of government we have.”

Jim Casey, president of the River Place MUD, said: “Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about people walking on the closed trail and these people are going onto the City of Austin 1600 linear foot trail erroneously built on the periphery of Cortana. I wish the city of Austin would allow the MUD to deconstruct this and build the 1600 linear foot bypass. That would eliminate this problem entirely.”
