Trunk-or-Treat ushers in Halloween

Everything but the kitchen sink! Their costumes my be wildly different, but these trick or treaters all came to the annual Steiner Ranch Trunk or Treat event for the same reason: free candy! Skeletons, super heros, hot dogs, princesses, puppy dogs and warriors were just a few of the characters attending Trunk-or-Treat on Sunday in Steiner Ranch. Local businesses, Girl Scout troops, nonprofits and churches loaded their trunks full of treats and handed out candy and other goodies to the hundreds of  participants. The festivities, hosted by the Steiner Ranch HOA, also included face painting, balloon animals, train rides and bounce houses.   

The event, which ran from 4-6 pm, was well-attended, with long lines forming early and lasting throughout the afternoon.

Meghan Carrero showed off her unicorn face paint, offered for free thanks to sponsors at the Steiner Ranch annual event.

This Batman catches criminals… and frisbees! Superhero Nico Maniccia had fun with his dad on the lawn at Towne Square.

Children’s musician Joe McDermott kept everyone well entertained throughout the event, and Steiner trick or treater Savannah Montelongo sang back up on “The Monster Mash.”

It’s a jungle out there! Brantley Brokaw, along with his wife Elise and son Paxton, took advantage of the cool temperatures to enjoy a dress up day with the family.

Jill Harriman looked on as her Little Red Riding Hood Eliza danced along with the live music provided at the Steiner Trunk or Treat event.

Mario Matty Chien and his mushroom brother Ian hoped to snag some candy while enjoying the beautiful fall weather with their parents, Diana and Ming Chien.

All aboard! When not collecting candy, Trunk or Treaters took advantage of the free “train” rides around the fields offered at the annual event.

These skeletons aren’t in the closet anymore! Ziri Udezui and his sister Jaya brought their best scary faces to the Steiner Ranch Trunk or Treat event on October 29 at Towne Square.

One swims, one flies, both have fun at Trunk or Treat! Cadie Dezso and her pal Morgan Lood each brought their own Halloween sparkle.

Da Baby Bears! Matthew Miller, aka Chicago Bears Coach Mike Ditka, was a favorite at the Halloween festivities.

Strong man Paxton Flor and his mom Danielle ran off to join the circus for the day.
