Crash report from Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Deon Cockrell:
Time: Approximately 8:17 p.m.
Location: FM 620 (.2 Miles East of N. Quinlan Park Rd.)
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a fatal crash on FM 620 in Travis County.
The 2014 Kia Forte, occupied by four females, was traveling eastbound (from the direction of Mansfield Dam) on FM 620.
The Jeep Wrangler, occupied by a male driver was traveling westbound (from the direction of St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church) on FM 620.
For an unknown reason, the Kia travelled across the double solid yellow lines and into the west bound lanes and struck the 2015 Jeep Wrangler head on.
As a result of the crash, one of the female passengers in the Kia was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three female passengers in the Kia were transported by Travis County EMS to St David’s Round Rock Medical Center.
The driver of the Jeep was treated at the scene and released.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Travis Fire Rescue and Travis County EMS assisted at the scene.
The Texas Department of Public Safety would like to remind all drivers to minimize distractions, don’t drive fatigued, don’t drink and drive, obey traffic control devices and always wear your safety belt.
One person is dead and three others seriously injured after a crash around 8:15 p.m. on July 22 in the 5200 block of RM 620, just east of the Quinlan Park Road intersection.
According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, first responders with ATCEMS, the Austin Fire Department, and Lake Travis Fire Rescue were dispatched to the scene.
Three people were transported to St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center with serious injuries.
A fifth person reported minor injuries and was taken to Baylor Scott and White Lakeway Hospital.
