The Vandegrift tennis team competed in San Antonio in the UIL Regional Tournament October 19 and 20. 

The Viper boys and girls defeated Laredo United in the semifinal round with a score of 10-2. 

In the finals, the team once again faced their district rival, Westwood. The VHS team of seniors, Lauren Tin and Claire Logeman, narrowly won a nail biting, line one girls’ doubles match, but after that Westwood prevailed to take the tournament. 

Finishing as Regional runners-up in the team tournament placed Vandegrift in the top eight teams in the state.
