Canyon Ridge Middle School performed the musical “Newsies JR.”
is a show about youngsters who sell newspapers in New York City in the 1890s. They successfully form a union and go on strike to demand better conditions for the working kids of New York. It’s a show about resiliency, teamwork and tenacity.
About 50 students were involved with the show and there was some help from a couple of high schoolers too. Brandy Roth was the technical director.
“Newsies” is Director Adrianna Ball’s last show at CRMS, she is leaving the teaching profession.
“Over the past six years, I have cherished every moment of working with my students, helping them grow not only as performers but also as confident, creative individuals.”
