In every victory this season, there has been one constant for Vandegrift: a solid ground game.
Vandegrift head coach Drew Sanders said after last week’s win over Leander that establishing the run game is crucial for his team. This Friday, things will be no different as the Vipers host a Vista Ridge team that can put up points in a hurry.

Vandegrift forward Greg Brown III had a stellar freshman season for the Vipers last year, and as a result, he was the fifth-ranked player in the Class of 2020 in ESPN’s first class rankings in early August.
“I’m going to work hard to help prove that I deserve a higher ranking,” Brown said.
Brown, standing 6’7”, averaged 17.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in his freshman season. His freshman season was impressive enough to earn him a spot at the 2017 USA Men’s U16 National Team training camp. Continue reading

Cory Thurston and Austin Stelling — two young entrepreneurs who graduated from Vandegrift — started a pool maintenance company called Thrusty Pool Care.
The team are currently both attending Texas State University and successfully balance their business and school, working primarily out of the Four Points area and also include Westlake and Lakeway. They provide routine maintenance for customer’s pools, as well as taking care of the repairs on equipment.

Many families enjoyed the 8th Annual Steiner Ranch Pumpkin Patch on Sunday at John Simpson Park.
Hundreds of pumpkins served as the backdrop for many photo shoots. Also pumpkins of all sizes were sold with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation.
