FP Chamber to host CAMPO transportation meeting in River Place Jan. 27

Congestion is one of the top issues facing local residents and the Four Points Chamber of Commerce wants to help. The Chamber is teaming with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization to host a public meeting to get feedback on traffic concerns from Lakeway to Cedar Park, including Four Points.

“We urge our community to get involved and help with building the solution to our area growth and roadway improvements into the future,” said Ray Freer, Chairman of the Four Points Chamber.

The Chamber invites local residents to a CAMPO Mobile Meeting at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at Austin Christian Fellowship Student Center, 6401 River Place Blvd 78730 in River Place.

Wyzykowski’s booking photo released

The booking photo of Nicholas Wyzykowski is released after he is charged with driving while intoxicated on a public roadway and causing the deaths of Peggy Howard, 60,  and her son Cale, 18.

Wyzykowski, a 21-year-old University of Alabama student, is in the Travis County Jail with a bond is set at $185,000. He faces 19 felony charges from the Dec. 27 accident that also sent five others to hospitals with injuries including broken backs, broken ribs, a broken neck, a broken femur and a punctured lung.

Here are the 19 felony charges he faces:

2 counts of Intoxication Manslaugter, a 2nd degree felony

2 counts of Manslaugter, a 2nd degree felony

4 counts of Intoxication Assault, a 3rd degree felony

4 counts of Aggravated Assault, a 2nd degree felony

5 counts of Failure to Stop and Render Aid in the 3rd degree

2 counts of Failure to Stop and Render Aid in the 2nd degree

Margaret W. (Peggy) Jenkins Howard was taken from us on Friday, December 27, 2013. A beloved wife, mother, friend, and kindergarten teacher, Peggy was a gentle, loving, and giving soul.

She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on August 28, 1953 to Harry and Margaret Jenkins, and attended public schools in Birmingham, Alabama, until she entered the University of Alabama, where she received bachelor and master degrees in education. Through the years Peggy also did further graduate work in art history at the University of Alabama and Columbia University in New York. Among the fondest memories of Peggy’s youth were the friendships she made and continued to maintain throughout her life, and her studies and travels abroad in Europe while at university.
