S & S Nails & Spa has now reopened after a car crashed into its front window two months ago.

“It has been tragic,” said Danny Nguyen, who owns the salon with his mother Jackline.

On April 24, a car drove through the front window of S & S Nails, which is located at 7900 RM 620 N. near Home Depot.

Nguyen said that a lady, who was in her 70s, was on her cell phone and said she was stopping to pick up a pizza next door when she put her foot on the gas instead of the brake.

The lady drove through the S & S storefront and stopped in about the middle of the store while customers were getting their nails done.

No one in the salon was injured by the shocking event.

“My mom was very close to the car as it came through,” said Nguyen, who was grateful she was not hurt. She was and still is very shaken by the crash.

They were closed for more than 50 days and reopened a week ago.

Nguyen said they worked with the insurance company and the contractors who repaired the shop. There have been many delays and it has been a frustrating and costly process, he said.

Nguyen and his mother opened the salon just over a year ago and are hoping to get the word out that they are once again open for business.
