Fatality near 620/Four Points Dr. involved 5 vehicles and 1 fled the scene; Road expected to be closed for a couple hours, APD said

Austin Police Department shared more details just after 10 a.m. of the fatality from earlier this morning in Four Points.

At 6:44 a.m. APD and Austin-Travis County EMS medics responded to the 7600 block of RM 620 between Four Points Drive and Vista Parke Drive.

“The primary vehicle was attempting to turn left on to 620 out of the apartment complex located at 7655 FM 620 when a northbound vehicle struck it,” according to the APD public information officer.

“The driver of the vehicle making the turn was ejected. That person was struck by multiple other vehicles, one of which fled the scene. A total of five vehicles were involved. The person was pronounced deceased on scene,” APD confirmed.

A witness to the accident said the a man was laying on the road.

The other driver involved in the initial collision was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, APD stated.

The vehicle that fled the scene is described as a light-colored SUV with crash damage on the back side of vehicle. The driver is described as a white female, blonde, approximately 5’6” tall, the PIO said.

At this point, there is no indication that alcohol or cell phone use was a factor in the incident, APD stated.

The road is expected to be closed for a number of hours.

Accidents this summer on the main roads of Four Points have been more than 30.

A person was killed this morning after a collision on RM 620 in Four Points.

At 6:44 a.m. Austin-Travis County EMS medics responded to the 7600 block of RM 620, north of Bullick Hollow Road near Rudy’s Country Store & BBQ for a reported collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

One adult was pronounced dead at the scene and a second adult was taken to Round Rock Medical Center with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, medics said.

Austin Police Department is in the area, according to local sources. The Texas Department of Transportation said RM 620 has been shut down in both directions at Four Points Drive.
