Q&A  Head Volleyball Coach Melissa Southall

Overall/district records 2019:

2019 Title:

Regional Quarter Finalist

Varsity returning: 8

Starters returning: 3

Coaching record: 111-35

  1. What are some key strategies and key concerns for you this season within the COVID pandemic?     Key strategy is to keep the girls safe and not have an outbreak – my biggest concern is our season being cut short due to COVID. We are working hard to get back into volleyball shape and working to highlight our strengths and improve on our weaknesses as quickly as possible since district starts Friday, Sept. 25.
  2. Which team is predicted to win district?  How does your team stack up against them? Westwood, returning district champion. They lost a lot of key senior components as well so I think with our upcoming athletes, we can compete.
  3. Any up and coming players who are new on the scene? Samantha Wunsch, 6-0 opposite left-handed hitter.
  4. What’s a great story to share? A senior outside hitter of ours did not play the past two years due to health issues and she worked extremely hard since July when she was cleared to earn a jersey. Catherine Logeman #10
