UPDATE: Charges are dropped on both teens who were arrested for the downtown Austin shooting that resulted in the death of a tourist and 13 injured


On June 22 authorities dropped charges against two teenagers who Austin Police Department said were involved in a fight that led to the Sixth Street mass shooting on June 12. APD is now looking for a new suspect: De’ondre Jermirris White, 19, who investigators believe is responsible for the shooting death of Douglas Kantor, 25, as well as the shooting injuries of 13 others.

Second Suspect Arrested in Connection with Downtown Austin Shooting incident

Arrested:    Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb, Black male, 17 years of age

The Austin Police Department (APD), in partnership with the Killeen ISD Police Department has arrested Jeremiah Roshaun Leland James Tabb, for aggravated assault in connection to Saturday’s Downtown Austin shooting incident in the 400 block of E. 6th Street. On Monday, June 14, 2021, Tabb was arrested without incident in Killeen while enrolled in a summer school class.
This case is ongoing and still under investigation. A booking photo of James will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
