The “Road to State” has come to an end after 29 weeks of swimming. Viper swimmers represented Vandegrift well at the 2022 UIL 6A State Swim meet last weekend, said Jason Schmidt, VHS head swim and dive coach.

The boys took 14th (52nd last year) and the girls took 22nd at state, which was held at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center at the University of Texas February 18 – 19.

Additionally a total of seven VHS school records were broken,

“I am so proud of our swimmers and they all have very bright futures in our sport of swimming,” Schmidt said. “ Wishing them all the very best as they continue to compete in the short course season 2022.”
