VHS ViperBot robotics team wins state, sets record

After five rounds of intense matches, the Vandegrift ViperBot team Valor won the 2022 UIL State Championship. Valor, an FRC team, went undefeated in 12 qualifying matches beating the 2018 World Champion and setting a new world record score.


The Vandegrift ViperBots robotics teams competed in the UIL Robotics Championships in Houston April 8-9.


After an incredible round of qualifications, team 6210 Stryke fought hard in the finals and lost on a penalty earning them the 2022 FTC State Runner Up.

The teams will compete next week April 20-23 in Houston at theWorld Championships at the George R.Brown Convention Center

UIL Robotics operates in collaboration with the FIRST and BEST robotics organizations for its two divisions. The FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) division includes two competition programs, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)and the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC).

UIL Robotics began as a pilotprogram during the 2015-2016 schoolyear. Aft er three successful years as apilot program, Robotics became an offi cial UIL contest beginning with the2018-2019 school year.
