VHS water polo places 7th at West Region Championship

Vandegrift placed 7th out of 19 teams at the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association Water Polo – West Region Championship on April 22 and 23, 2022 in San Antonio.

At the tournament, Aaron Gordon was selected for the 2022 TISCA Water Polo All-West Region Team.

While this year’s team was primarily made up of VHS swim team members, there were also members whose primary activities at Vandegrift ranged from band to football to soccer and golf.

Water Polo will be a University Interscholastic League sport for fall 2022 with the first day of practice allowed on August 1 and State Championship on October 29.
VHS water polo will be part of District 22 along with Vista Ridge, Waco Midway, Cedar Park, Leander, Glenn and Rouse. VHS was working on practicing at the Bella Mar pool in Steiner Ranch before school so that non-swim team members can join the team too.
