The Vandegrift Legacies dance team presented their award winning dances at the annual Vanguard dance performance. The show was held over three performances to sold out audiences April 28-30.

“We are so proud of our students for putting on such a successful production. Performing in the auditorium again after two long years made the whole experience even sweeter,” said Holly Lyons, Legacies director.

After two years, the performance was back in the VHS auditorium at full strength with complete stage production, set design and lighting. The performance not only featured the VHS Legacies, but also the VHS Vision Dance Co. and the area feeder middle school dance teams, including the Canyon Ridge Dyami Dancers and Four Points Majestics.

“Vanguard 2022 was a perfect end to a wonderful year, and we could not be more proud of our students for working so hard to get there,” said Gabby Azios, Legacies assistant director.

The theme ‘Revival’ was a fitting ode to the collective experience of the last two years, taking the audience through a journey of weathering a storm, breaking through to daybreak, and coming out on the other side stronger, more resilient and in full bloom. It was also an emotional evening for the graduating Legacy seniors as they danced their last performance with the full team on the final night.

“We are so glad that our seniors were able to perform on the auditorium stage for the final time,” Azios said.

Director Lyons added, “We are especially proud of our (Class of 2022) seniors for their performances, and the way they have led their team through this year.”
