TCSO responds to 2 deaths in four days, Deaths possibly due to fentanyl-laced oxycodone

From Travis County Sheriff’s Office: Travis County Sheriff’s Office detectives have responded to two separate incidents involving decedents in their twenties. One incident happened on May 14th and the other on May 17th. In both cases, counterfeit oxycodone pills that are suspected to contain fentanyl were found.

TCSO warns the public to be aware of these pills and the possibility they could be deadly. Photos of the pills are attached to this email. The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is assisting with the investigations and will test the pills for their actual contents.

The official cause and manner of death for both decedents is pending final autopsy reports from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
