Steiner Stars Swim wraps season for Red & Blue

What a 2022 Steiner Stars Season!  The Red and Blue teams have finished out their summer swim schedule with a successful effort at both divisonal and invitational meets.

Throughout the season, the Red team had dual meets against Blockhouse Creek, Rattan Creek, Brushy Creek, and Anderson Mill. The Blue team had a successful campaign against Round Rock, Wells Branch, Balcones Country Club, Cedar Park and Georgetown. Led by our head coaches, Jeff Fellows and Diana Aleman, swimmers achieved personal bests in close to 50% of races swum.

It’s quite the testament to them and their coaching staff, shared volunteer Andrew Struck.

The last meet of the year was invitationals. In order to swim at this meet, swimmers must achieve a time cut. In the end, Red had 54 qualifiers while Blue had 42. It was a fast meet with lots of records broken.

Speaking of records, by the end of the 2022 campaign there were quite a few team records captured by both squads. Blue swimmers captured 10 new records by the season’s end while Red had 14.

A special thanks this season to the following board members who finished up their terms and gave so much of their time to this organization – Jason Yunker, Tracy Miller, Keitha Peacock, Chris Ritter and Maggie Acosta.  Another special thanks to the Steiner Ranch HOA for partnering with the Stars this season.

The Stars program is has been helping kids develop as swimmers for over 20 years. Registration for the 2023 season will open up in April. More information can be found at www.steinerstars.org.
