Vandegrift sends 27 Vipers to state in DECA   

Vandegrift DECA competitors had great success at the District V Career Development Conference on January 28. Thirty-nine Vandegrift competitors arrived bright and early at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock well-prepared and looking sharp in their professional business attire. Twenty 27 advance to the state level which will take place next month in Dallas.

Vandegrift DECA competitors had great success at the District V Career Development Conference on January 28. Thirty-nine Viper competitors arrived bright and early at Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock well-prepared and looking sharp in their professional business attire, according to advisor Nick Benson, who works with advisors Erin Lucas, Erin Mathis, and Kari Michalek.

“We are proud to announce that 27 students will represent Vandegrift High School at the Texas State CDC to be held in Dallas,” Benson shared.

This was the largest District V CDC hosting nearly 2,000 students from high schools across the region. Competitors from all six Leander ISD High Schools participated, requiring a host of volunteers to judge and chaperone students.

“Every LISD high school performed well with 184 students advancing to the state competition,” Benson said. 

The Texas Career Development Conference will be held March 9 – 11.
