After selling out in 10 days for the Hill Country Education Foundation’s 4th Up Gala, I had every hope that we were in store for more record-breaking numbers.

The final tally of $113,875 exceeded our expectations! On behalf of the HCEF Board of Directors, thank you Four Points Community for your generosity.

As a result, we will increase our Impact Grant funding to $40,000, send $21,800 to Vandegrift High School for PSAT programming, academic UIL competitions and teacher professional development, and continue to fund Naviance, ReadiStep, robotics clubs, summer library programming and much more!

I especially want to thank our very hard working, dependable and dedicated volunteer chairs. They elevated the quality, expanded the fundraising potential, and we are extremely grateful to:

  • Myra Roberts – Event Chair
  • Julie Petrucelli & Cherisse Smyser – Silent Auction Chairs
  • Stephanie Johnson – Live Auction Chair
  • Chris Lee – Ticket Sales/Computer Management Chair
  • Susan Arant – Decorations Chair
  • Michelle Lamb – Publicity Chair
  • Kai Lamb – Finance Chair

We also appreciate the many more hands that lent us their talents from pre-Gala preparation and procurement to set-up and event night help. Very special thanks to these generous parents, grandparent and volunteer organizations — you are an integral component to our success: Sandy Barnes, Amy Johnson, Amanda Marks, Shawna Meyer, Martha Moring, Cathy Richardson, Jim Roberts, Julie Sabuda, Coach Drew Sanders, Tonya Stahl, Doris Bui, Laura Lee, Concordia University Texas students, Texas Cowboys, and VHS Pals.

When and where will the 5th Annual Gala be held? Please stay tuned as we finalize the details! For those interested in a 2015 sponsorship, please email Gala@HillCountryEdFoundation.org.
