One person is dead after a shooting at Apple Sales and Leasing Four Points near the 620/2222 intersection tonight.

Austin Police Department responded to a 9-1-1 call of a “Robbery/Hot Shot” call just after 5 p.m. at Apple at 11320 RM 2222, which is located near Bank of America and the H-E-B shopping center.

APD officers arrived quickly and detained two people who were at the scene and are potential suspects, said Marcus Davis, APD officer.

Once officers were able to navigate the scene, they found the dead body at the dealership.

The person fatally shot may have worked there, been doing business there or been walking by, Davis said.

Davis said there was another individual at the car dealership who was thought to have a concealed handgun license who intervened in the shooting and fired back at who was believed to be the suspects. One was struck and was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Homicide Detectives are working the scene tonight to try and figure out what led up to the shooting. They are checking if there are cameras in the area and interviewing everyone who was there.

Police may be on the scene into the early morning.

“We want to get this right. We want to get this right for the victim, we want to get this right for the family members so however long it takes, we’re willing to do that,” Davis said.

APD believes this is an isolated incident and that the public is not in danger at this time, Davis said.
