The Vandegrift band performed its Winter Concert featuring all concert bands:

Concert Band Two, Concert Band One  Symphonic Winds, and Wind Ensemble.

Under the direction of Mike Howard, director of bands, the concert was held on Dec. 13 at Austin Baptist Church.  

The Wind Ensemble’s repertoire included “Symphony No. 4” by Maslanka. This exquisite piece will be featured at the 6A Honor Band concert in February 2019 at the Texas Music Educator’s Convention in San Antonio.

VHS band directors also acknowledged students who made TMEA District and Region bands, and those who advanced to the Area competition. After the Region 32 auditions, the Viper band had 52 students make the TMEA All-Region Band — the most of any school in the region.
